 Post subject: equipment respect vs. handler respect

It's hard to tell, but try to make sure your dog is not respectful of the eqiupment, but rather they respect you. For instance, if you put the e-collar on the dog, and they instantly obey perfectly, they respect the equipment, or as some say, "They are e-collar wise." I prefer the statement, "They need to respect you; the e-collar and prong are merely tools, but you are the authority that follows through with corrections." Whether they have an e-collar on, a prong, or choke, they need to resepect the handler.
